John F. Tanner

Founder & President

John received his Law Degree from Cumberland School of Law. He completed advanced studies at Harvard Law School in Post Graduate Studies in International Law and Statutory Interpretation

John began his career in governmental relations and lobbying when he was elected to the city council of the fastest growing city in the state. At the age of 23, he became the youngest elected official in Alabama and headed up the city’s governmental relations with the state and federal government and was then elected to the Alabama legislature.

Following his 10+ years of service as an elected official, John served in a variety of positions in state government and for other elected officials. He served as Senior Advisor and Special Counsel to the Governor, Chief of Staff and Legal Counsel to the Lieutenant Governor, Legal Counsel to the Alabama Finance Department, Senate Rules Committee, Senate Finance & Taxation Committee, Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, State Docks as well as a Special and Deputy Attorney General for three different Attorney Generals.  John also served with the Governor on the Mercedes Team Project which successfully brought Mercedes to Alabama.

His experience working in Alabama both as an elected official and inside state government has given him an unparalleled knowledge and a thorough understanding of the inner workings of state government and state agencies.
